| Record sales boosted since Glastonbury festival! |

 One wonders how Noel Gallagher feels about the praise Jay-Z received for his Glastonbury set on Saturday, following the Oasis guitarists comments that hip hop has no place at the festival. It was probably a bigger kick in the teeth for Noel when the American rapper covered the Oasis classic ‘Wonderwall’, accompanied by guitarists and huge Union Jack backdrop, the crowd lapping it up like a pack of thirsty mongrels in a desert Oasis.
But today Noel will be patting the American rapper on the back, following news that sales of Oasis albums have seen a sudden resurgence since the festival ended.
According to the BBC, sales of 'What's The Story (Morning Glory)', the album featuring ‘Wonderwall’, as well as Oasis's best of album, 'Stop The Clocks', have increased by 200% and 140% respectively. The ‘Wonderwall’ single has also seen a boost in sales. But the Gallagher brothers aren’t the only ones to benefit.
Experts [whoever they may be] predict that Jay-Z’s 2004 single, ‘99 Problems’, will sky-rocket into the top 25 this week, with his Linkin Park collaboration, ‘Numb/Encore’, also expected to chart. Other bands to play at Glasto, including Elbow, Kings of Leon, Editors, The Feeling, and The Raconteurs, have also seen a massive boost in sales. [fini]
