''Dance music is on a downer at the moment...Its a calling for all electronic artists to make music that excites people again!''
Tom Young is a 21 year old student from East Anglia currently studying Sound Technology at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Before moving up to Liverpool he studied both Popular Music and Sound Technology at colleges around EA. Tom has been producing dance music for around five years and makes every kind of electronic and sample based music, testing his production skills. Although, his main passion lies with Big Beat and BreakBeat.
Tom strongly believes in live dance music and actively encourages fellow producers to take this route. He feels that ''crap DJ's'', along with faceless, one-hit bedroom acts have spoilt the masses perception of dance music, and is out to put things right. This hunger for playing live shows came from watching The Prodigy at a young age and Tom's amazement with the energy and response from the crowd.
Tom writes his tracks between his home studio and his tiny room at his uni halls, much to the annoyance of his neighbours. Always writing with live performances in mind, he finds inspiration from jamming and trawling through banks of samples. Tom is currently finishing material for his debut album (Electronic Punk) and is playing live around Liverpool.
Tom has won a number of awards for his music, including the title of Young Musician of the Year, and the Sound Plus Award for Innovation.
